Is advertising on billboards a good idea? In some ways, yes. Others, not so much. A lot of times (Especially in Missouri), we see large companies making sure people get the message that their companies are the best by sticking it on a huge billboard on the side of the road. This is the WRONG way to do it! Sure, it's really visible, but there are an estimated 9.9 quintillion billboards in the state of Missouri per yard, so this isn't effective. It'll blend in with the other billboards and become unrememberable. However, if you have a billboard advertising cheap food and restrooms, people on long car trips will instantly gravitate there.

Generally, It's all about location. Nobody cares or remembers your insurance commercial on the road, because they're driving and don't really want to call. However, an insurance company will be well advertised in a newspaper, or Tv ad. Unlike gas stations, which are great to advertise on the side of the road, but not so much on a newspaper or Tv ad. Remember, you have too keep location in mind when advertising.
