Plato's (Im) Perfect City

Plato's perfect city could not have worked out, because it required an entire population to be flawless, which is laughable. In the entire history of the earth, there has only been one man who managed to be perfect, and that was Jesus Christ. Besides, such a life in this city would be meaningless, living in your own little world, without regard to the outside, like in The Giver. Eventually, someone would get corrupt, become thirsty for power, like we see in many humans. Such a city would fall apart quickly.

So, what are other things wrong with Plato's idea of a perfect city? Well, slaves would be selected at random among the people, which is good rioting material. Citizens would be chosen as bronze, silver, or gold class. The gold class would be highly privileged, the silver class would be normal people, and the bronze class would be slaves. This was decided at random, with no regard to the people's character, which is another thing wrong with the city.

The last thing wrong with the city is the disrespect shown for average people. The way they would be buried depended on their class, and how much they contributed to the city. So if you were gold and lounged around your entire life, you would be buried just the same as a hardworking silver - class person, and if you were a hardworking bronze citizen, you would be buried in the same type of grave as a lazy silver-class person. This is ridiculous, selfish, and unfair to the hardworking people of the city who are buried next to the lazy rich guys. As a conclusion to this essay, Plato's city would have been corrupt and unstable, had it been possible in the first place.
