Howdy everyone, welcome to another western civilization essay. This week I will be covering three questions from western civ. Firstly, what does the evidence show about education in England before the compulsory state system was established? Well, schools belonged mostly to the churches and had to develop in line with the country's class structure. Before compulsory state education, there was NO state education. Secondly, what is classical liberalism? Well, contrary to the modern meaning of liberalism, classical liberalism is a political and economic idea that promotes a less strict government and individual liberty. Lastly, what is the main classical liberal theme that can be found in the works of Benjamin Constant? Well, Benjamin Constant wrote in some of his books that the world was only so crime-ridden because the government was making everyone follow them to the letter, and if they loosened the law a little, the people would work it out themselves. There is a big theme to classical government that if the government loosened their laws and got out of everyone's business, the people would want to revolt less. Thanks for reading another one of my western civ. posts!
