How Marvel Made a Mockery of Norse Mythology

In the most recent movies made by Marvel, original Norse mythology was absolutely butchered, and here's some of the reasons why.

Marvel swapped the personalities of the Norse gods.

Many of you marvel watchers may think that Thor is the one causing trouble and Odin is the kind, grandfatherly type trying to bring peace. This is incorrect. In The Edda, Odin was a jerk, and Thor was the trouble - solver. Also, Loki never became a good guy, like the movies show. He got tied up in a cave with a snake dripping venom on his face for all eternity until Ragnarök.

2. Thor is not the god of thunder.

A lot of you are probably thinking, "Whoa, Whoa, WHOA! Yes he is! Ask literally anybody else on earth!". But In reality, he is not. Thor is the god of honesty and hard work, and if you read Norse mythology, you will see he is only loosely related to lightning. Yes, his hammer does shoot lightning, but that's the same as saying that since us humans' guns shoot bullets, we are all gods of bullets. So, for all of you paying attention, this means that marvel completely made up almost everything about Thor.

Original Thor:

There are many other things that Marvel completely made up about Norse mythology, like family relations in the gods and magical weapons like Loki's spear, but that can't all be done in one post. As a conclusion to this essay, Marvel needs to bring some level of realism, or at least let their viewers know about the certain things they made up.
