Hello people, this week's essay will be about James Watt, an ingenious inventor with an eye for innovation.
So, where did he start out? Well, he was born in 1736 in Scotland to Covenanter parents. He was a pretty smart dude, so he opened his own shop selling instruments, like mercury barometers. However, an instrument making guild forbid him to make anymore, since he didn't meet their requirements. Which was pretty dumb because there was nobody else really competing with him, and the tools he made were pretty useful. So he swapped jobs, and was primarily involved with steam engines.
He improved its efficiency greatly, and was influential to other inventors as well. He set up the first domino for what would soon become a long line of dominos that lead to the modern train. Think of what the world would be without the train: super slow army mobilitization, no metro, No train to hogwarts...
We use trains a lot these days, but that's nothing compared to how much people use trains before cars and planes were here. If people wanted to get somewhere other than by horse or boat, you bet they took a train. They also used the train to transport materials. Without the train, we would be very behind in technology today indeed.
Other than steam engine, he was influential in the creation of the Leyden jar, and He opened the Soho factory, with very advanced technology for its time. As a conclusion to this essay, James watt was a very significant innovative figure and greatly organized the world as we know it today.
