Joyner's Standards of an Irresistible Offer

Writer's picture: Dalton MorrisonDalton Morrison

Mark Joyner talks about how to make an irresistible offer in his creatively titled book, The Irresistible Offer. He basically says that the best ways to make an irresistible offer are as follows: inform a lot of people about how great your offer is, then let them tell their friends. Imagine this: your friend tells you that they ate a really good full-size pepperoni pizza down at the gas station for five bucks, and it's the gas station you pass often on your way to work. When you're hungry and passing by, that offer is probably going to be ringing in your ears, and you will want that pizza. The final requirement for an irresistible offer is for the ad to give you something extra so you feel like you're getting a deal. Say that the pizza came with a large soda with free refills, you'd remember the offer even better than before. This is Joyner's idea of an irresistible offer: a great deal that you will remember long after introduced.

Now that we know what an irresistible offer is, which one of the following videos has the best definition of an irresistible offer?

You're probably thinking it's video #3, just because you like M&Ms. But it's the last video: The ad gave you a good deal and a special offer: they would send you instructions with the computer. This was huge back then, because computers were new and not a lot of people knew how to use them. As a conclusion to this essay, advertising and marketing are hard, but if you know how to make an irresistible offer, you can earn money fast.

This is essential because you want people to be able to recognize your brand and notice it out of the hordes of other things that are being advertised to them every day.
