Howdy everyone, this week's essay will be about the Coke Fired Blast Furnace. What was the World before it?Well, there was the English Civil war that dated   1642-1651, and George Fox founded the quaker movement in 1647. Now Let's look at the inventor. Abraham Darby was born in 1678 near Worcestershire, and his his Great Great Uncle served in the English Civil war. Abraham Darby figured out how to use a furnace that used coke, which is much more efficient than coal but more dangerous. We can see that because Darby's investors got scared and left in 1708, But Darby left footholds for other great innovators, who made footholds for the other great innovators, until finally  in 1712, the Newcomen steam engine was invented.

Abraham Darby made an important step towards the Industrial Revolution. His method of casting pots in sand provided his successors with a viable business that operated for over two centuries. Smelting iron with coke ultimately released the iron industry from the limitation imposed by the speed of growth of trees. Coke-smelted cast iron went into steam engines, bridges, and many of the inventions of the 19th century. The great quantities of iron made to meet the requirements of the Industrial Revolution could only be produced with coke smelting.

To sum it up, Abraham Darby helped the process of smelting by making it cheaper and faster to smelt with less impurities. However, it was more dangerous than original smelting.
