The Universe's Size

The universe is a massive place, so massive that our planet is absolutely miniscule compared to the smallest portion of the galaxy. So, just how massive is the Milky Way? Well, the speed of light can circle the earth about six times in one second. Now, for example, imagine we built a scale that makes a light year 1 meter. The Sun would be the size of a virus. The Milky Way Galaxy would be the size of a large city about 60 miles across, while M31 would be another city about 2500 km away. Given the scale of this model, light moves about a meter per year; so even at light speed, a trip from the Milky Way to M31 would take 2.5 million years.

That is a tiny portion of our universe. This makes us seem absolutely insignificant compared to the rest of the universe. We live in an incomprehensively massive (really big) universe, and that's just the part of the universe we can see.

This is really good the only thing I would do differently is that I would make it a bit longer and add another picture. I noticed that we both have pictures in or post
